Their Challenge
Christie Digital has a vast catalog of projectors, lenses, and cinema lighting each uniquely optimized for specific scenarios. While this deep catalog means Christie has a solution for nearly every AV challenge, it can be extremely difficult for clients to identify the best product for their needs. The Christie Digital team created a spreadsheet that helped determine the ideal product based on the client’s setup. While the spreadsheet enabled clients to find the right products, it provided a poor customer experience.
Our Solution
Saritasa upgraded Christie Digital from this spreadsheet-based tool to Cinemaster, a custom web app cinema projector calculator accessible directly on its website. Cinemaster dramatically improved Christie’s customer experience, making identifying and purchasing the right products easier than ever. Our team built the original application in 2020 and continues to maintain it today.
Our Approach
What Saritasa Did
Cinema Configurator
Prospective customers can input their cinema’s specific theater setup along with their desired projector requirements. The tool is highly customizable, allowing users to edit everything from the screen specifications to light drop-off, and even includes the option for 3D.
Product Recommendations
Once the user inputs all their specifications, the application calculates and recommends the optimal product configuration, including a projector, lens, and lamp, to achieve the client’s desired results. The user can also select specific products, and see how the products would work in their theater environment. The results can be downloaded via an Excel spreadsheet.
Scalable Product Inventory
Our team integrated a Django-based content management system (CMS) that allows Christie Digital to add additional products, manage existing ones, and set product properties. These new and adjusted products are automatically added to the tool’s calculations, allowing Christie to easily and efficiently scale and manage their product catalog.
Multi-Language Support
Christie Digital is a worldwide supplier of AV equipment, with customers across the globe, which meant the calculator needed to support multiple languages to be effective. We have built-in support for nine different languages, including; English, German, Russian, Japanese, Spanish, Chinese, Korean, and Portuguese. Additionally, the calculator works with both metric and imperial measurements.
